Brasil with an “S”, here we go – First stop: Floripa

Miya – This was our first mini trip inside Brasil after arriving in Såo Paulo @ Christmas.  We stayed with our friend Gabriel, which was just a block away from popping bars/restaurants.  Our typical day consisted of getting up, grabbing acaí and a natural sandwich @ the corner cafe, heading to one of the many island beaches, hanging out in the warm sun and ocean, then @ night enjoying a cold drink or food in the 80 degree weather.  No jackets needed.

Favorite Foods:

**Papaya/Banana/Apple Fruit salad, fresh plain yogurt, granola and honey (this became my new breakfast food for the rest of the time in Brasil),

**Empadas – made with whole wheat flour, filled with ricotta cheese and broccoli and baked in the oven  (it was my afternoon snack after the beach)

*****

There was not a cloud in the sky this day… Praia da Armação

Vila had Paulo on his “Radio Campeche” show, playing some good reggae and hip hop for the Island

Favorite beach in Floripa – 20 minute walk to “Matadeiro”, no car access
